Is It Really A New Day?
Oh man, what is going on with the New Day? After joining together and having an astonishing run, including winning the Tag titles 8 times as well as singles accolades, could the Unicorn Stampede be finished? They were the first tag team to surpass Demolition's 478-day title reign and hit 483 days. No small feat by any means. They are for sure going to be first-ballot Hall of Famers. But it seems the time has come to put the unicorns out to pasture. At their 10-year anniversary, Big E came out to address the recent issues between Kofi and Woods, only to have them turn their backs on him. No more Booty O’s, no more Unicorns, no more New Day.
Now, I get that they felt after the injury, Big E was only looking out for himself with doing commentary and pre-shows. However, if they felt some type of way, they should’ve spoken up. Their mutual disdain for Big E helped Woods and Kofi get on the same page. They even once stated that when the time came for a New Day breakup, it would be on good terms, and they would still have each other’s backs. Sadly, recent confrontations between them have solidified that not happening. With Big E finally trying to interject, it seems it was too little, too late.
On a good note, it makes me wonder: is Big E cleared? Will we see a WrestleMania match between them? There has to be some long-term storytelling at play here. Also, side note: I’m loving that E’s girlfriend is getting in on the trash talking on social media. Here’s to hoping for a huge payoff and a fun heel run by the group formerly known as the New Day!
